Today I launched my new image for my DJ company. I'm very excited about this focus for the company and I love the new look of my logo and website. I've been asked why I'm no longer going to use EricTheDJ so I thought I'd explain that here.

I loved using EricTheDJ, especially for my website address, since it was fun and easy to remember. Unfortunately that name no longer seems to truly represent me or the the full range of services that I offer now and plan to offer in the future. I needed to upgrade to something a little more robust, so today Schiemer Entertainment Services will be picking where EricTheDJ has brought me.

Both SchiemerEntertaiment.com and EricTheDJ.com will both bring you here so feel free to use either address, also I'll be still using my ericthedj email address for quite some time during the transition.

This has been a huge change for me and how I present my business, I'd love to hear your comments, feel free to post them here or email me.

Big changes around the Bend

It's been a pretty wonderful year so far, full of some amazing weddings. I'm on the verge of something else pretty amazing and thought I should give people a head's up here. As you can tell, I'm about to release a whole new image for my DJ company that will include a new name, new logo, new website... new new new. While this won't actually change any of the services I offer or the quality of what I deliver, it will be a little different from what you see now when you visit www.ericthedj.com.

Over the next week or so you'll see a shift from EricTheDJ to Schiemer Entertainment. The name reflects a new direction for my company as I try to expand the services and quality that I offer. This won't mean that I'm hire a crew of DJ's to send out to events. If you hire Eric, you still get Eric, guaranteed.

EricTheDJ 2.0

Well I'm happy to report I've been using my time during the DJ 'off-season' very productively. Between helping out with the new baby, I've been working on developing my new DJ website. I hope you find it easy to use and hopefully error free! (I had to learn a bit of programming to make it work the way I wanted... so no guarantees) Please let me know what you think or if you have any problems. I have to say thanks to my AWESOME support and beta testers Tara & Bethany, it would have taken me years without them.

Sample Playlists

I've included some sample playlists for a few of the weddings I've played this year. It's amazing how different each reception can be. In the past few years I've had some people who have really spent a lot of time customizing special music for dinner and cocktail hour which really gave their events a special touch. Check this new feature out under the music section.

Good DJ, Bad Blogger

2007 has been my busiest year of the past 22 years. Good news for me, bad news for the website. I have some major things comin' to the site soon so just hold tight. Meanwhile the pictures section will get a major update before this week is up!

Here We Go

Ok, finally getting a little downtime now that the BIG wedding push is over. I'm actually preparing a new service that I'll be offering very soon, so stay tuned for some news.

The good news for now is that the music catalog has been updated (finally!) so feel free to add some of the newest of the new to your playlist!

I'm really hoping to have some more info/pictures up soon but of course, it is the holidays! Hope everyone is doing great, 2007 is gonna be an amazing year!

Availability

Unfortunately the company that does my calendar information is doing an upgrade this weekend... this means you can't check if I'm open for your date until Monday morning (hopefully). If you get an message saying that I'm booked on the date you need please send me an e-mail to check for sure.

Demo Login

Make sure you check out the 'client area' to the website, it'll show you all the great planning tools that are available to you once you book my services. Turns out there has been an issue with the demo login, but I have that fixed now. Just enter the date "March 18, 2007" and use the password 'demo' to check out these great features.

Let the updates begin

Sorry it's been so long since my recent post. Thanks to referals from theknot.com and some wonderful friends I have been really enjoying a wonderful wedding season. I have a lot of great pictures to post soon and some new equipment to write about on the ol' website so get ready for a lot of posts in the next few days.

I have uploaded the newest version of my database so feel free to search for the latest and greatest tracks, they should all be listed now. Feel free to let me know if there's anything you can't find!

Ahhh, vacation's over

As most people know, Winter tends to be the 'off season' for Djs. Not many events or weddings here in Pittsburgh. It's nice because it gives me some time to reformat my laptops and do some equipment cleanup to get everything ready for the upcoming year. I'm quite happy to say that 2006 is looking to be my busiest year ever, thanks largely to The Knot (www.theknot.com) and their great message boards. If you haven't been using The Knot yet, it's a great resource for all your wedding planning needs. The message boards allow you to get real reviews from real brides right here in Pennsylvania, definitely make sure you check it out.

Well, as Spring approaches I'll have more and more posts about what's happening, new improvements to my site and business. We do still have some openings still in 2006 (though not many) so if you're interested, make sure you click on the Check Availability link.

Well, I spent a good portion of my day 'finally' getting more pictures up on line. If you go to the photos page, you'll see about 250 photos. These range from recent weddings, the Holiday Inn and The Pittsburgh Pint & Platter. Hope you enjoy! Updates, Get Your Updates Here!

I've been working hard all week adding some new and updated content on the website. Those of you who see me regularly will be happy to know that I've finally changed/added the nightlife section which includes information where to find me playing during the week. The 'experience' section will be completed very soon as well as a TON of new pictures that need added to the photos link. Look for some from a few photos from some recent and AMAZING wedding receptions.

Updated Database

Ahhh, finally got the online database updated with all newest songs. So, if you're planning your wedding online and want to include "Gold Digger" by Kanye West or "These Boots Are Made For Walkin" by Jessica Simpson, you're all set. As always if you can't find what you're looking for, just fill in the 'custom song' catagory and we'll get what ever you need for your event!

Sneak Peaks

I get wonderful comments back from my clients about how easy and simple it is to plan all their wedding details right here through my website. So I wanted to offer a chance for everyone to take a look around on how it works. I've created a sample login, so all you have to do is click on the 'client login' link to the left of the page. Use the date "March 18, 2006", the password is "demo". Feel free to poke around, change the different options, even choose a couple of song requests. Once you book your reception, I create a unique login for you to begin planning your own wedding details. ENJOY!

I'm currently playing around with my new photobog... hopefully it'll be a nice easy way for me to include photos from all my recent gigs in a quick and simple fashion. Feel free to browse thru some of the photos.. who knows maybe you'll get some ideas for your next event. To get there click here.

To make the hiring of your DJ even easier we're proud to announce that we've included a quote generator to our online system tools. Just click the "Check Availabity" button on the left hand navigation and if your date is available you'll be taken directly to our quote page! So simple even the groom could do it! While we do still love to talk to all of our clients in person, this is just another way to make sure you've secured our services right now. As always, feel free to call with any questions or special concerns.

ALSO, we've added sample links to our music catalog, now you can preview each song to make sure it's the right one when adding it to your request lists! Way cool!

Song Database Updated

Make sure you check out the recently updated song database, it's been updated to include all the latest songs that we've added to our collection. Remember if you can't find a selection you're looking for, just ask... we're willing to obtain any song to make your event perfect!

Winter Blahs

Well, typically the winter is a pretty slow time in the DJ business... not a lot of weddings going on so it's a good time to take inventory, sort music etc. This year has been different with a lot of personal (a new baby!) and professional (all new equipment!) taking up much more of my time. It's all kept me quite busy much very happy. Unfortunately I haven't had as much time as I'd like to do the regular things like update my website, but changes are on the way including more fun filled DJ pictures.

I do wanna let everyone know right away that we're going to start doing KARAOKE at the Holiday Inn, Beaver Falls every Friday from now on. There's a great drink special that's gonna go with it but I don't wanna post it here til the details are finalized... but trust me, you're gonna wanna come out and sing at least one song every Friday!

We have some great new tools that we're adding to our website, including a music search an easy way to determine our availability for your special occassion. Please see the links at the top right hand side of the website to check out some our recent additions!

Needle in a haystack?

I'm working on setting up ways for visitors to my website to search my 80,000+ music database. Hopefully currently and potential clients will find this useful to determine what songs they'd like to hear at their events. Try using the search bar on the top of the page and let me know what you think.
